'The Salle Modulable is the perfect complement to Lucerne's unique offerings as a festival city and will further consolidate Lucerne's position as a musical capital of international stature. Foundation Salle Modulable

Foundation and Purpose

The Salle Modulable Foundation was established in April 2008 at the instigation of Michael Haefliger, the artistic and executive director of LUCERNE FESTIVAL.

The Foundation's purpose is to design, construct and maintain a variable, multi-functional cultural space in the city of Lucerne or on a piece of property nearby. This space must be capable of being used for music theatre, classical opera and experimental music.

This cultural space is to be made available inter alia for events mounted by Lucerne's established cultural institutions, such as LUCERNE FESTIVAL, Lucerne Theatre, the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra and the Lucerne School of Music, as well as the organisations and event organisers associated with them.
